Avoid Frost
/We have noticed a few members taking advantage of the unseasonably warm weather, we just ask that if there is frost on the ground that you avoid that area or wait until it warms up enough that the frost is gone to play.
Happy holidays!

Happy holidays!
Thank you to everyone who was able to make it out for the annual meeting. We love hearing the feedback from the membership and the questions that were asked show the investment all of membership has in making sure the course remains successful.
If you were not able to attend the meeting the minutes from the meeting will be posted to the website after they have been approved by the board. Big takeaways without going into details, financially the course had another great year. As touched on in the October newsletter we are in a great position financially for the start of 2024. Green fee rate increase was approved in the September meeting for the 2024 and that has been up updated on the website and in the point of sale software for Nine & Dine.
We would like to give a big thank you to Levi Vogel for his dedication to not only the course but to the board of directors and also introduce Brock Flaharty to the board.
We also want to give a big thank you to Paulette Wilson for all that she has done for the course. Her amazing personality and training of the staff have changed some once in awhile visitors in to regulars for golf and the Nine & Dine. We wish you the best and can’t wait to see you as just a customer!
The course is officially closed for the season with the closing of the nine & dine, Scott has completed his winterizing of the course. Happy holidays, we look forward to seeing you all in the spring.
Good morning a late addition to our event calendar that was missed getting added earlier is a private event on 9/23. The course will be closed while this event is going on we apologize for the tardiness on getting this put on our calendar and shared out to you.

On Friday, October 28, the IGA Board of Directors named recipients of the 2022 Annual Awards in six categories. We are pleased to announce this year’s honorees.
9-Hole Superintendent – Scott Rohlfsen of Jesup Golf & Country Club
Scott Rohlfsen of Jesup Golf & Country Club is this year’s IGA 9-Hole Superintendent of the Year.
But truth be told, Rholfson takes care of more than just the nine holes at Jesup G&CC. Rholfson also keeps an eye on things at Maple Hills Country Club, Willow Run Country Club, Vinton Country Club and Dysart Country Club, while still providing top notch turf surfaces in Jesup.
“Scott and his crew have quickly gotten the course back open and in pristine condition,” member Shawn Even said. “When traveling to play at other courses and people ask where you’re from; we’re proud to say Jesup. Many times, members from other courses have noted that Scott is the Superintendent at Jesup and how much they love playing our course. You can truly tell Scott loves what he does.”
The Jesup G&CC Board of Directors had similar things to say regarding Rholfsen’s efforts. According to the board at Jesup G&CC, Rholfson has been vital to the success and smooth operation of the Jesup Golf & Country Club for many years now. His vast horticultural knowledge and preventative maintenance schedule has kept our course free from major diseases and minimized the unnecessary loss of trees.
One project in particular of note that Rholfsen spearheaded was adding more tee markers and increasing the size of the tee boxes to accommodate all levels of golfers and has also improved the visual and playing aspects of the course by edging all bunkers and re-defining penalty areas.
“Scott was able to bring our course back to life and it looks better than ever,” Chad Schmadeke on behalf of Vinton Country Club said. “In spite of the city more than doubling our water rates, Scott was able to do this while adjusting our water use to keep us financially stable. He has shared equipment with us when ours breaks down, and he finds us needed equipment through industry contacts.”
Scott’s attention to detail and dedication to his craft are unmatched and the members of the clubs he cares for know just how lucky they are to have him.

This event was a success last year with a great turnout of kids from all age groups and we want to continue to grow not just this event but the numbers of people who find this challenging sport enjoyable.
Jesup Golf & Country Club includes a fully-irrigated Par-36 golf course, featuring tree-lined fairways, well protected bent bluegrass mix greens, and deceptive length, as well as a clubhouse, bar, and banquet room.
